Grand Island, NE — Hornady® is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Busch as the Heartland Public Shooting Park Manager.

In his new position, Busch will oversee the overall operations of the Heartland Public Shooting Park including public outreach, scheduling, event management, and training.

Prior to accepting this position, Busch served as the Sheriff for Howard County, Nebraska, and has over 25 years of professional shooting and marksmanship training experience in the law enforcement and civilian fields. Before his law enforcement career, Busch served in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantry Staff NCO/Platoon Sergeant with multiple combat deployments to Iraq where he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal with Combat V device.

“Tom is extremely passionate about the shooting sports and possesses excellent leadership skills and a high level of organizational capability. In addition, he has a deep personal connection with the shooting park having served the facility as a volunteer for over a decade,” said Neil Davies, Hornady Marketing Director. “We are confident Tom will excel in this role,” he added.

In his spare time, Busch teaches civilians firearm safety, competes heavily in 3-Gun, 2-Gun, and USPSA matches, and volunteers at various shooting events.

Busch possesses numerous certificates: Firearms Instructor from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, Terrorism Response Tactics Shooter Trainer from the Advanced Law Enforcement Training Center, and a Law Enforcement Certificate from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center.

Now managed by Hornady, the Heartland Public Shooting Park is one of the more complete public shooting facilities in the country with many recreational and competitive activities taking place every year.
