Hornady® A-Tip® Bullets Shine at 2020 PRS Pro Series Finale
Grand Island, NE — Hornady® congratulates Austin Orgain, Doug Koenig, Mark Cooper, and George Gardner on their performance at the 2020 PRS Pro Series Finale on December 12, 2020, in Ninnekah, Oklahoma.
Austin Orgain won the Open Division Precision Rifle Series points race and took second place at the finale using Hornady 6mm 110 gr. A-Tip Match bullets.
“Once again, A-Tip bullets prove to be the most consistent bullets out there,” Orgain said. “Since buying my own A-Tip bullets this summer, I have not finished outside the top 10 in a national-level match. The A-Tip is a winning bullet.”
Mark Cooper took first place at the finale and won the Production Division overall points race shooting 30 Cal 176 gr. A-Tip bullets in his 308 Win.
Doug Koenig took first place in the Production Division PRS points race and won the PRS Finale shooting Hornady 6mm 110 gr. A-Tip bullets.
“In very tough conditions, shooting at very small targets, the 110 gr. A-Tip bullets gave me the confidence that I needed to finish out the finale as the 2020 Production champion,” Koenig said.
George Gardner placed second in the Gas Gun Division overall points race and took second at the finale shooting Hornady 6mm 110 gr. A-Tip bullets.
Thank you and congratulations to everyone who used Hornady products throughout the 2020 Precision Rifle Series season.
Years of research and testing by the Hornady Ballistic Development Group, combined with advanced manufacturing processes and quality control measures, have led to the creation of the ultimate low-drag, high-performance match bullet.
The most striking visual feature of the A-Tip® Match bullet is its long, uniform, precision-machined aluminum tip. The longer aluminum tips are machined to be caliber specific, and when coupled with highly refined AMP® bullet jackets, aggressive profiles and optimized boattails, the result is enhanced drag efficiency across the board.
The materials, design and manufacturing techniques combine for the most consistent and accurate match bullets available. In addition to development projectiles that will shoot well in a variety of chambers, the Ballistic Development Group also designed the A-Tip™ bullets with the right balance between the center of gravity of the projectile versus the center of pressure to minimize in-flight drag variability.
