Zombies in the Heartland Recap
Over 450 competitors braved 10 challenging competitive stages and five side match stages as Pandemic 2015 wrapped up on May 31. This 3-gun event hosted by Hornady® is in its fourth year and continues to attract shooters and zombie enthusiasts nationwide.
Zombies in the Heartland is a unique competition in which shooters must complete stages involving shooting behind cars and tombstones, among other post-apocalyptic themed settings. Over 90 event sponsors collectively donated $250,000 in prizes, giving every competitor the opportunity to claim a prize for their efforts in taking down the "undead."
The top shooters in the Open and Tactical classes were:
Open: 1st – Jerry Miculek, 2nd – Larry Houck, 3rd – James Darst
Tactical: 1st – Jesse Tischauser, 2nd – Kelly Neal – 3rd Jacob Betsworth
High Lady: Lena Miculek
High Junior: Nate Staskiewicz
"Registration for Zombies in the Heartland sells out faster and faster each year, thanks to the incredible support from fans and sponsors," said Neal Emery, Communications Manager for Hornady. "This event is great at bringing in people and showing them what we have to offer here in central Nebraska."
