September 2014 Competitions
USPSA HANDGUN NATIONALS
Hornady® ammunition produced top-10 finishes at the 2014 USPSA Handgun Nationals held September 21-28, 2014 in St. George, Utah. The 27 stages were designed to prove more than speed, agility and problem-solving abilities; they were about endurance, and demanded focus by all the competitors to shoot through low ports, while kneeling down, and walking through a shoot house complete with several scenarios. Despite unexpected heavy rain and hail that created challenging stage runs, Team Hornady® prevailed with impressive performances.
Blake Miguez finished in the top-10 Limited Division out of 169 competitors shooting Hornady® 200-grain 40 caliber FMJ bullets.
Michael Voigt won High Senior and placed 12th overall in the Open Division shooting Hornady® 9mm 125-grain HAP® bullets.
Maggie Reese placed third among the ladies in the Production Division shooting Hornady® 9mm 147-grain XTP® bullets.
3-GUN NATION PRO TOUR SERIES
At the US Shooting Academy in Tulsa, Okla., the 3-Gun Nation Pro Tour Series concluded September 27, 2014 with several distinguished results by Team Hornady® members.
Keith Garcia won his second consecutive Pro Tour Series title with Hornady® 55-grain Steel Match® ammo in his 223 Rem rifle, and Hornady® 9mm 115-grain XTP® bullets in his pistol.
Dianna Muller finished third in the Ladies Pro Division shooting Hornady® 223 55-grain FMJ reloads in her rifle, and Hornady® 9mm 124-grain reloads in her pistol.
Shooting Hornady® 223 55-grain V-MAX® in their rifles, and Hornady® 115-grain HAP® bullets in their pistols, both Maggie Reese and Michael Voigt posted strong performances that qualified them to return in the 3-Gun Nation Championship Shoot Off in mid-October.
