Wins at Home and Abroad

Pair the Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence Ammunition Manufacturer of the Year award winner, with the world's most talented group of professional shooters, and the result is Team Hornady. Individual team members celebrated numerous wins in the U.S. and across the pond in July, displaying their competitive natures and roles as ambassadors within the shooting community. Competitors count on Hornady bullets and ammunition for their dependability, reliability, accuracy, and match-winning performance.

Kelly Neal, of Phoenix, Ariz. took first place in the Tactical Scope Division, and overall at the Arizona Independence Day Rifle Match, shooting Hornady 223 Rem Steel Match with 75 grain bullets. He also finished second in Tactical Scope and 1st Law Enforcement at the Northwest Multigun Challenge in Albany Ore., using Hornady 75 grain Steel Match and 125 grain 9mm Steel Match.

Fresh from his win at the Greek Nationals, Louisiana's Blake Miquez competed at the Pro-Am Championship in Frostproof, Fla., finishing fourth in the Open Division among 350 registered shooters. Miquez used Hornady XTP 200 grain 40 caliber projectiles and Hornady HAP 124 grain 9mm projectiles.

Team Hornady member, Max Michel of La. also returned to the Pro-Am Championship, shooting Hornady 125 grain HAP to finish a respectable second in the overall Open Pro Division. Michel is determined to take the title next year.

Jessie Abbate took second place in the Ladies Limited Division of the Pro-Am Championship, and Open Overall in the Open Amateur Division, landing her in the professional arena next year - the first woman ever to do so in the history of Pro/Am. Abbate shot Hornady 115 grain XTP in her 9mm STI pistol, a consistent load that is soft-yet-strong enough to knock down the steel plates.

Doug Koenig of Albertus, Pa. won his third European Open Bianchi Cup during the three-day event at Phillipsburg, Germany. His winning score from the National Action Pistol Championship in Columbia, Mo. followed him to Germany to win the Open Division with a winning score of 1920/187x, shooting Hornady XTP 115 grain 9mm at the match.

Thomas Glas, of Germany competed alongside Koenig in the European Open Bianchi Cup to finish second in the Open Division with a score of 1910/150x, shooting Hornady 125 grain HAP bullets.
