Governor of the State of Nebraska Proclaims August as National Shooting Sports Month
Grand Island, NE – Jim Pillen, Governor of the State of Nebraska proclaims August 2024, as National Shooting Sports Month.
In August of 2024, organizations and businesses will come together to recognize National Shooting Sports Month and spotlight shooting sports and activities millions of Americans enjoy.
Hunting and shooting sports contributed over $1 billion to the Nebraska economy in 2023, and recreational dollars from license fees and the federal Pittman-Robertson excise tax on sporting arms, ammunition, archery, and handguns apportioned to Nebraska resulted in almost $19 million in funding for wildlife conservation, habitat, and hunter education for the State in 2023.
“At Hornady, we enthusiastically promote shooting sports, hunting, and conservation,” said Steve Hornady, President of Hornady. “We are committed to this industry, the furtherance of our sporting heritage and we are thrilled to support this proclamation,” he added.
