Hornady® Shooters Velayo and Wojcik Dominate at Granite Creek Sniper Challenge

Grand Island, NE — Hornady® congratulates shooters Phillip Velayo and Caylen Wojcik on their performance at the Granite Creek Sniper Challenge, June 3-4, 2021 in Sheridan, Montana.

Velayo and Wojcik took first place using Hornady 6mm 110 gr. A-Tip® Match bullets and the Hornady ballistics app, 4DOF – paired with a Kestrel.

“The accuracy and consistency of A-Tip bullets completely blew us away,” said Velayo. “These bullets cut through the 20-25 mph Montana crosswinds like a hot knife through butter, making easy work for first round impacts on 1-2 MOA targets out to 1,145 yards,” Velayo added.

A-Tip® Match bullets feature an aluminum tip that’s precision machined and longer than polymer tips, that moves the center of gravity and enhances inflight stability, resulting in tighter groups and reduced drag variability. In addition, A-Tip bullets are sequentially packaged for the ultimate in consistent performance.

Ideal for precise long-range calculations using select low-drag precision bullets, the Hornady 4DOF Ballistic Calculator provides trajectory solutions based on projectile drag coefficient (not ballistic coefficient) along with the exact physical modeling of the projectile and its mass and aerodynamic properties. Additionally, it calculates the vertical shift a bullet experiences as it encounters a crosswind; referred to as aerodynamic jump.
