Hornady^® Donates to the GRACE Cancer Foundation and Salvation Army

Grand Island, NE - Hornady® Manufacturing continues to give back to the Grand Island community by making a generous donation to the GRACE Cancer Foundation and the Salvation Army.

The amount Hornady donated to the GRACE Cancer Foundation this year was, $42,460. This amount was calculated using a portion of each box sold of Hornady Critical Defense® Lite ammunition in 9mm and 38 SPL. Critical Defense Lite features a pink bullet tip and pink ribbon packaging to help showcase support in the fight against cancer.

"The GRACE Cancer Foundation has a special place in many of our hearts” said Angela Simdorn, Hornady Human Resources Director. “We have had family members, friends and employees who have been diagnosed with cancer and have been helped by this fantastic organization” Simdorn added.

GRACE Cancer Foundation assists cancer patients, cancer survivors, and family members who live within 40 miles of Grand Island, Nebraska, or are being treated at the Grand Island Cancer Treatment Center. Aid is given in a variety of forms to address financial expenses not typically covered by insurance, such as gas cards to better enable patients to access treatment, assistance in paying household expenses, food certificates, and more.

"This gift makes it possible for us to directly help families in our community and the surrounding area with medical bills, household expenses and so much more” said Sarah Koch, Executive Director of GRACE Cancer Foundation. “Hornady is extremely dedicated to our community and this gift is a direct reflection of their commitment.” Koch added.

Hornady also donated $4,015 to the Salvation Army. Each year, Hornady employees donate money to purchase a gift at Christmas time for Steve and Jason Hornady. They, in turn, present the overall money raised to the selected organization and this year, they selected the Salvation Army.
