Hornady Named 2017 Ammunition Manufacturer of the Year

Grand Island, NE — Hornady Manufacturing has been named Ammunition Manufacturer of the Year for the seventh time by the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW).

Hornady received the award on Oct. 17 at the Leadership and Caliber Awards during the association’s Expo and Annual Meeting at the San Antonio Convention Center. More than 450 members attended.

“All of us at Hornady work really hard to make, sell and ship quality ammunition,” said Renae Waltemath, sales director. “It’s an honor to win this award and be recognized for the value and service we provide.”

"Every year, the annual Leadership Awards are our opportunity to recognize companies that are committed to two-step distribution,” said Kenyon Gleason, NASGW president.

Two-step distributors buy products from manufacturers and then sell the products to dealers, who, in turn, sell them to end users.

Awards were also presented to manufacturers of firearms, optics and accessories, as well as the Importer and Innovator of the Year. Criteria for the awards include distribution policy, marketing, sales and promotion, logistics and operations, and NASGW and industry support.
