35th Bianchi Cup

Hornady® Manufacturing congratulates Team Hornady® members Doug Koenig, Carl Bernosky, and Jessie Duff for their winning performances at the 2013 Midway USA & NRA Bianchi Cup. The match was held at the Green Valley Rifle and Pistol Club in Columbia, Missouri, May 22 – 24, 2013. Now in its 35th year, the prestigious Bianchi Cup continues to attract competitors within the United States and from Europe.

Doug Koenig has become synonymous when mentioning the Bianchi Cup, having won it 15 times. With a winning score of 1920-183x, Bianchi Cup Champion Doug Koenig shot Hornady® 110 grain XTP® bullets in his 1911 38 Super Comp pistol. Koenig commented, "I count on the superior accuracy of Hornady 110 grain XTP so I can concentrate on the mental aspect of the game. The history and difficulty of this match keeps me coming back for that perfect score."

The course of fire at Bianchi Cup remains unchanged, with four core matches shot at varying distances. Competitors must use the same ammo and shoot both weak and strong hand at "The Practical," "The Barricade," "The Falling Plates," and "The Mover."

Long time High Power Rifle Champion, Carl Bernosky, brought his game to the Bianchi Cup to secure second place. Shooting 1920-178x, Carl proudly joined the illustrious "1920 Club" for competitors who have shot a perfect Bianchi Cup score. Shooting Hornady® 110 grain XTP® in his 38 Super Pistol, Bernosky said, "The accuracy and undeniable performance of Hornady 110 grain XTP give me that competitive edge." Commenting on what winning meant to him, Bernosky added, "To be able to train and shoot alongside my friends Doug Koenig and Bruce Piatt is to compete with the best!"

Jessie Duff won her third High Lady in the Women's Open Division, with a score of 1893-142x. "I love that I can rely on the consistency of Hornady 115 grain HAP® bullets in my 9mm pistol at every yard line," Duff said. "The human element is the only thing I have to worry about."
